St John’s DSG Water Security & Treatment Solution

St John’s Diocesan School for Girls was experiencing frequent water interruptions and significant leaks that disrupted daily operations and diverted focus away from education.

To resolve these challenges, the school partnered with Marlin Technologies Group (MTG) to implement a reliable, independent water supply using on-site groundwater.

Project Overview

MTG designed and installed a high-capacity water treatment plant tailored to the school’s needs, ensuring a consistent supply of safe, high-quality water.

System Design & Components

The system processes 60,000 litres of water per day and includes:

  • Two 10,000-litre raw water storage tanks
  • Booster pump system to maintain consistent flow through the treatment process
  • DMI-65 filtration for effective removal of manganese
  • AFM filtration for sediment removal
  • Water softening system to reduce hardness
  • Activated carbon filtration to improve taste, clarity, and odour
  • Chlorination system for disinfection and bacteria control
  • Sodium hydroxide dosing for pH balancing
  • A 193,000-litre bulk storage reservoir for treated water

Results & Benefits

 Water independence
The school now relies on its own underground water source, reducing dependence on municipal supply.

Cost savings & ROI
Lower municipal water usage with an estimated return on investment within 36 months.

Reliable supply & performance
Consistent water flow and pressure across all facilities ensure uninterrupted daily operations.

 High-quality, safe water
Advanced treatment processes deliver clean, balanced, and safe water for consumption.

Empowering Education Through Reliable Infrastructure

This project demonstrates MTG’s commitment to delivering sustainable, high-performance water solutions for educational institutions. At St John’s DSG, the result is a resilient system that allows the school to focus on what matters most — education — without worrying about water disruptions.
