Bishops College

The client requested that MTG build a water treatment system to cater to the school and boarding houses. MTG proposed a treatment plant that will supply sufficient water in accordance with client requirements and also meet SANS 241 standards for potable water.

About the Water Treatment System

The system was designed based on water sample results to process enough water that the borehole can produce. The filtration system is made up of media filtration, micron filtration, a water softener, chlorine dosing, and a UV steriliser.

The system is fully automated with municipal backup if required. MTG takes monthly samples for testing. The project included the laying of concrete foundations, a prefab housing unit, and an 80,000L storage tank.

Benefits and ROI

The College Campus is supplied with sufficient water to support most of the demand for potable use. There is reduced reliance on the municipal supply. ROI Summary Calculated based on the water usage and municipal tariffs. ROI estimated to be achieved within 36 months.
