Project Overview
MTG was appointed to design and implement a fully integrated water treatment plant capable of treating borehole water to SANS 241 potable water standards.
The system currently produces approximately 15,000 litres of potable water per day, with the design allowing for future expansion as the development grows.
The borehole source presented elevated hardness levels, requiring a specialised multi-stage treatment process incorporating:
- Advanced media filtration
- Water softening
- Chemical dosing
- Final ultra-filtration
- Potable water storage and distribution
- Automated monitoring and control
The system was designed with reliability and long-term performance in mind, incorporating redundancy, ongoing water quality monitoring, and a comprehensive maintenance programme.
